Make travel plans for the Rose Bowl, Jan. 1 in Pasadena

With the Ducks playing in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day, the UO Alumni Association is offering a fan experience for alumni and Duck devotees traveling to Pasadena for the game.

The fun begins long before the game, with travel packages that include a chartered flight from Eugene and three nights accommodation at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown, the very hotel that will be hosting Mario Cristobal and the UO team. Optional add-ons include tours to see the Rose Parade floats and entry to the Rose Parade itself.

The alumni associatioin and the Office of Stewardship and Donor Services also are hosting the University of Oregon tailgate at the Brookside Golf Club prior to the game. A private event just for UO fans, the UO’s official Rose Bowl tailgate will include an unlimited buffet; appearances by the Duck, the Oregon Marching Band and UO cheerleaders; and live music by the Blue Breeze Band, a Motown/R&B/soul/funk group whose members have performed with Smokey Robinson, the Temptations, Mary J. Blige and Rod Stewart.

Travel packages are available for purchase now but are selling fast. Alumni association members will be able to register for the UO tailgate Thursday, Dec. 12; tailgate registration will open to the general public Friday, Dec. 13. More information about the Rose Bowl, including ticket sales, watch parties and parade information, can be found on the alumni association’s website.

Neither the travel package nor the UO tailgate includes a ticket to the game. Tickets should be purchased separately from the UO athletics department.
