Move-out and commencement prompt traffic awareness alert

It's time for the typical June influx of visitors and activity at the University of Oregon: Residence hall move-out is June 10-14 followed by commencement June 17.

UO faculty and staff members should be aware of increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic around the residence halls and Franklin Boulevard. Everyone in the university community is encouraged to travel by foot, bike or bus whenever possible. Drivers should avoid East 13th and East 15th avenues and Moss Street, as well as parking lots located near residence halls.

See a map of traffic changes during the week.

Changes to traffic patterns include:

  • June 12-14: Bike lanes on Agate Street between East 13th and East 15th avenues will be closed; 30-minute loading along the curb.
  • June 12-14: East 13th Avenue will be one way westbound between Agate and University streets.
  • June 12-14: Onyx Street adjacent to Straub Hall, Lot 29, and 15th Avenue from Onyx to University Street will be a 30-minute loading zone for residence hall move-out.
  • June 17: The annual commencement march will go from the closed portion of East 13th Avenue at University Street westbound to Matthew Knight Arena, with rolling street closures between 8:15 and 9 a.m.
