New permits among changes for UO Parking and Transportation

Location, staffing, parking permits: Those are among the changes as University of Oregon Parking and Transportation moves into a new home.

The new office – bigger, brighter and with more parking – is located at 1401 Walnut St., on the corner of Walnut and Franklin Boulevard.

New parking options are also available to faculty and staff:

  • For those who drive once or twice a week or less, the “Daily Parker” includes a one-time purchase of a faculty/staff hangtag ($20), and then the purchase of daily vouchers on parking days. The daily parking voucher is $5, providing parking for any faculty/staff permitted lot. This permit is valid in faculty/staff lots from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m., serving those with nighttime or graveyard shifts.
  • For those who start at 3 p.m. or later – but within parking enforcement hours – the Twilight permit is available for $150 for 12 months. The permit is valid in faculty/staff permitted lots.
  • A reduced price motorcycle permit is offered with the purchase of an automobile permit. For those who drive a car in the winter but want to ride a motorcycle or moped to work in the summer, purchase of a regular faculty/staff permit and an additional $15 provides a motorcycle permit for the duration of the regular permit. Motorcycle permits are also available as a stand-alone permit purchase at the same rate as previous years.

Parking Service Representatives clad in bright yellow shirts now operate around campus, helping to sort through parking questions.

New permits, which come out this fall, model images of University of Oregon foliage (permit fees did not increase for 2013-14 and pre-tax payroll deduction is still the recommended payment plan).
