Nominations now open for the UO Martin Luther King Jr. Awards

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2022 Martin Luther King Jr. Awards given by the Division of Equity and Inclusion. Added to the awards this year are individual and group awards for student and community partners

The awards are open to all UO classified staff, officers of administration, faculty members, postdoctoral scholars, groups of UO employees, graduate students and employees, undergraduate students, student organizations, and community members and organizations who have not previously received the award. Nominations are encouraged from and for both Eugene and Portland campuses.

Award categories include:

  • Social Justice “Drum Major” Award. 
  • The Unsung Hero Award. 
  • Outstanding Student “Influencer” Award. 
  • Outstanding Student Organization Award. 
  • Outstanding School/Department/Committee Award. 
  • Outstanding Community Partner Award. 

For more information and details on the awards, see the MLK awards webpage. Submit nominations using the online MLK 2022 Awards nomination form.  More than one nomination can be submitted. The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, Oct. 15.

Awardees will be recognized during the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Awards Ceremony on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022.
