Outstanding students to be recognized with UO awards

The University of Oregon honors the hard work, academic achievements and community contributions of students through its annual university awards program. This year the UO will present almost 100 awards and scholarships in a virtual ceremony.

“After introducing a new application process for awards this year, we saw a marked increase in applications, making this year’s applicant pool one of the most competitive in recent years,” said Marcus Langford, associate dean of students and coordinator of the selection committee.

Langford added that in addition to being outstanding academically, many of those being honored serve the campus and greater community in leadership and service positions, and are evidence of the high caliber of UO students.

Award winners will be announced in a YouTube Premiere that will be released on May 29 at 4 p.m. PST. The celebration can be accessed on the University Honors and Awards website.
