The Philip H. Knight Professor of Social Sciences, Jon Erlandson is the executive director of the UO Museum of Natural and Cultural History and archaeology professor who has done field research in coastal California, Oregon, Alaska and Iceland.
As part of the University of Oregon’s “Phil it UP” Appreciation Knight on Feb. 1, 2014, honoring Nike co-founder Phil Knight on his 76th birthday, UO students, faculty and administrators who have been touched by the Knight family’s generosity wish him a happy birthday and thank him for being one of the university’s greatest alums.
