President Michael H. Schill made the following statement following the ruling by a federal judge in Texas on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA:

The federal court ruling on DACA makes clear Congress must act now to protect our DACA students and all Dreamers. The University of Oregon supports our DACA students and will continue to fight for permanent immigration reforms that allow them to pursue their educations.  

The University of Oregon provides resources for students with DACA including direct support and UO can connect students to resources that include scholarships, free consultations with immigration attorneys to renew DACA status and funding to help with DACA renewal fees or other emergencies. Students may also request to make an appointment with the Latinx and Undocumented Student Specialist in University Counseling Services.
