President Schill makes room for more faculty-authored books

UO President Michael Schill is making room in his bookcase for more faculty-authored books.

This summer the president invited faculty to drop by his office to share and discuss their books. The response was enthusiastic and he received more than 200 faculty books during four drop-in events.

Schill said he enjoyed the process so much he cleared some more space in his office for more books. For the 2015-16 academic year, the Office of the President is holding three additional drop-in events so faculty can stop by with books.

The next scheduled book drop-in is Friday, Oct. 30, at 10:30 a.m. in the president’s Johnson Hall office. Faculty who miss the fall date can attend the winter drop-in, scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 12, at 4 p.m. in the president’s office.

A third drop-in event will be scheduled for spring term.
