Re-card requires extra step for campus parking garage users

Faculty and staff who park in campus garages will need to contact the parking department when they receive a new Duck ID card to ensure they continue to have access to parking facilities.

The university is in the process of issuing new ID cards to all students, faculty and staff, an effort known as “Re-card.” While most embedded card features, like appropriate building security access and Campus Cash balance, will automatically transfer to the new cards, garage access does not.

That means employees who use ID cards to park in garages, including the HEDCO garage and the Columbia garage beneath Matthew Knight Arena, need to take an additional step to maintain access.

Faculty and staff garage users should contact the Department of Parking and Transportation at 541-346-5444 and provide their name and the new proximity ID number — the 5-character code starting with "A" on the back of the new ID card. Parking staff will make sure garage access is updated appropriately.

See the card distribution schedule and FAQ for more information on the rollout of the redesigned ID cards.
