Recorded tributes sought for MLK Day awards ceremony

UO students, staff, and faculty members are invited to participate in the Division of Equity and Inclusion's annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration and Awards Ceremony event by submitting recorded tributes.

Recordings must be received by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21. Tributes can be uploaded to a Division of Equity and Inclusion OneDrive page.

Tributes should consider this year’s theme, “Amplifying Voices for Racial Solidarity and Equity.” Organizers of the event hope to inspire the UO community during this difficult time and remind UO members that there are institutional and individual responsibilities to fight injustice.

Tributes can take many forms, including but not limited to musical and dance pieces, poem/essay readings, spoken word, motivational remarks, and other forms of expression. An information sheet with recommendations for achieving best recording quality can be found on the OneDrive page.

Selected tributes will be featured in the virtual UO MLK commemoration and awards program Jan. 13, 2022. Questions can be directed to deicace@uoregon.edu.
