Search for honors college dean paused; broader pool sought

Interim Provost and Executive Vice President Janet Woodruff-Borden has announced that the university will pause the search for the permanent dean of the Clark Honors College.

The pause comes in recognition of concerns raised about the search process and to be responsive to feedback related to the limited pool of candidates.

“This will allow the opportunity to broaden the search committee and to launch a national search that will bring a larger pool of applicants, which may include both internal and external candidates,” Woodruff-Borden said in an email to the honors college community.

The Clark Honors College dean search was launched in March as an internal search. The search is expected to resume during the 2023-24 academic year. Additional information will be shared in fall when details are finalized.

Professor Carol Stabile will continue as acting dean of the college.
