Seven Ducks Named to Pac-12 All-Academic Team

The Pac-12 Conference All-Academic team was announced Wednesday afternoon by Commissioner Larry Scott with 19 student-athletes from Oregon on the list. Seven Ducks were named to the first or second team while 12 others earned honorable mention.

Of the 10 all-academic team honorees from the men’s side, Tanguy Pepiot (3.87, General Social Science) andSam Prakel (3.96, Biochemistry) earned first-team honors while Jackson Darland (3.87, Undeclared) andMatthew Melancon (3.58, Material and Product Sales) were named to the second-team. It is the third-straight year Melancon earned second-team honors.

Edward CheserekBryan FernandezMatt Jablonski, Travis Neumon, Cole Watson and Daniel Winn were also honorable mention recipients for the men’s.

On the women’s side, Alli Cash was the only Duck to earn first-team all-academic accolades with a 3.91 G.P.A. in human physiology. Ally Aschbacher (Material and Product Studies) and Annie Leblanc (Human Physiology) both earned second-team all-academic honors with a 3.76 and 3.73 G.P.A., respectively. This is the second award for Leblanc, she was a first-team honoree last season.

Receiving honorable mention accolades for the women were Lindsay CrevoiseratMolly GrabillAshley Maton, Kelly O’Neill, Megan Patrignelli, and Maggie Schmaedick.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
