Talks continue into the morning hours, resume today

After returning to the mediation table a day earlier than anticipated, the university and the GTFF continued talks through the night into the early Tuesday morning hours.

“We are prepared to meet anytime the mediator or the GTFF feels it would be beneficial,” interim President Scott Coltrane said of the development in a message to campus late Monday evening.

The bargaining teams were scheduled to return to mediation at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

While the GTFF work stoppage continued, the picket lines near academic buildings were quiet for the students taking finals.

Coltrane thanked everyone working toward resolution. “We remain eager to move beyond bargaining and start welcoming our GTFs back to work,” he said.
