Technology Service Desk has moved to Computing Center

The Technology Service Desk — a free computer help desk for UO students, faculty and staff — has moved to the Computing Center.

"For 16 years the Tech Desk has been located on the garden level of McKenzie Hall," said Patrick Chinn of Information Services. "But the Computing Center is where the Tech Desk started, so it's going back to its original home."

The front desk will be located in the Computing Center's south lobby, off Kincaid Street near Chiles Hall. The Tech Desk moved on Aug. 31.

The Technology Service Desk provides UO students and employees with free assistance on a range of technology topics, including email, the wireless network, accounts and a variety of software and devices. It is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., year-round. It offers extended phone and email support Monday through Friday until 7 p.m. during the fall, winter and spring academic terms.

This move is part of a series of UO space reallocations to consolidate dispersed programs and bring faculty offices and research labs that are currently located off campus into Pacific Hall.
