Voinovich’s Tribunal is a wildly satiric send-up of the Soviet dissident trials by a Russian émigré writer sometimes called 20th Century Russia's "greatest living satirist." Based upon his reaction to the Sinyavski/Daniel trial, Tribunal is a monument to Cold War Soviet dissidents and a sardonic critique of the persecution of dissident writers everywhere.
