University to begin distributing new ID cards Jan. 9

Starting winter term, the ID Card Services will distribute new ID cards to all UO community members.

The exchange will run Jan. 9 to March 24 and is scheduled in waves to keep lines short. UO ID holders should check the online schedule to find their designated pick-up week.

ID Card Services scheduled groups based on last name for employees and class year for students. Eugene ID holders should visit the ID Card Services office on the bottom floor of the Erb Memorial Union between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. during their scheduled week.

Portland-based students, faculty and staff can exchange their cards at the White Stag Building. Students at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology will be able to exchange their cards at the Charleston campus. Details for both locations will be announced soon.

ID holders should only come to the card office during their scheduled week or wait until after March 24 to exchange their ID. May 1 is the final deadline; after that, the old IDs will be deactivated.

Student Kathleen Darby designed the new card, which features an illustration of the UO campus and includes the SAFE hotline on the back. Darby’s design won a campuswide contest to give a facelift to the 10-year-old Pioneer Mother ID card.
