UO and United Academics reach tentative agreement

The University of Oregon and United Academics have tentatively reached an agreement on several key issues including career instructional faculty FTE for academic year 2020-21, an expectation of continued employment for career faculty, and a progressive pay reduction plan.

These tentative agreements are subject to a ratification vote by represented faculty, which is expected in early August. They are not final until that vote takes place.

“Reaching agreement with United Academics is of critical importance to the university as we prepare for a period of financial uncertainty greater than any of us has ever experienced,” said Missy Matella, senior director of employee and labor relations. “Now that tentative agreement has been reached, we look forward to turning our collective attention to planning for fall term instruction and pursuing research opportunities.”
