UO faculty asked to nominate undergraduate researchers for library awards

University of Oregon faculty members are being encouraged to contact student authors of exceptional papers or theses and urge them to submit applications before the Feb. 4 deadline for the UO Libraries' annual Undergraduate Research Awards.

Undergraduates who complete outstanding research projects using library resources and services are eligible for awards as high as $1,500. A letter of support from a sponsoring UO faculty member is required as part of the application process.

This year, awards will be given for papers and projects from a 300-level course or above and completed within a single term, and for a thesis or project developed over more than a single term.

To be eligible, students must have completed their papers, projects and theses during winter, spring, summer or fall term of 2012. The deadline for students to submit their applications is Feb. 4, and support letters from faculty are due by Feb. 8.

Last year's award winners are showcased on the UO Libraries' website.
