UO Libraries committee encourages nominations for purchase of diversity resources

The UO Libraries’ Diversity Committee is encouraging all members of the campus community to submit nominations for the purchase of diversity-related materials to add to the library’s collections. Priority consideration will be given to nominations submitted by Dec. 6, 2013.

The committee established the Library Diversity Fund last year to set aside funds to purchase materials that add to the library’s diversity collections.

Students, staff, faculty, departments, and other university groups and units are encouraged to nominate titles that will strengthen the library’s holdings in diversity-related areas.

The library’s definition of diversity reflects the university’s definition and includes, but is not limited to, differences based on race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, gender identity, economic class, political affiliation or disability.

Nominations are invited for all types of one-time, fixed-price purchases – digital and visual collections, multimedia items, books, DVDs, music and other materials.
