UO students, community can celebrate international week

The UO is marking International Education Week with a World Celebration Exploration on Thursday, Nov. 16.

The event will run from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Mills International Center in the Erb Memorial Union. A related presentation, “Turning Points: Our Journeys to Global Citizenship,” will be held Friday, Nov. 17, at the Mills Center from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

The UO’s Office of International Affairs has assembled a list of cross-cultural events taking place on campus during the week. They can be found at https://international.uoregon.edu/events.

International Education Week, which runs Nov. 13-17, is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. A joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, the week is part of national efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences.
