UO tests emergency notification system Oct. 17

On Thursday, Oct. 17, the UO Emergency Management and Continuity program will test the UO Alert! emergency notification system. The test is occurring in conjunction with the 2013 Great Oregon Shakeout.

The following test message will be sent via text message to registered cell phone numbers.

UOAlert! This is a test of the UOAlert! system and a reminder to practice earthquake response: Duck, Cover, and Hold. This is a test.

No action is necessary when recipients receive the messages.  In the event of an actual emergency, a different message will be sent with instructions.

The university’s emergency notification system consists of text notification, email, web page updates, social media, digital displays, in-classroom alerts in some classrooms, campus radio and media outlets.
