UO will not host flu shot clinics this fall for employees

The annual flu vaccine clinics for University of Oregon faculty and staff members will not take place this year, due to limited capacity and COVID-19 precautions.

Flu vaccines are available through primary medical providers and pharmacies as well as many walk-in medical clinics and urgent care centers. Faculty and staff should contact their provider of choice or preferred pharmacy to obtain more information about availability and cost. UO employees enrolled in PEBB benefits can receive a flu vaccine at no cost. Most other insurance plans provide similar coverage. Employees can contact their insurance provider for more information. Flu vaccines are also available at local health departments regardless of insurance coverage.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, getting a flu vaccine is now more important than ever to protect against contracting influenza, and to help reduce the strain on health care systems responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students can get an influenza vaccine from University Health Services.
