UO's new president gets his feet on the ground

UO President Michael Schill took a day-long tour of campus starting early Monday morning, meeting with employees and faculty in the lead-up to a welcome event in the afternoon.

Monday not only included administrative meetings but also a chance for Schill to meet with members of the UO community while touring campus and attending an afternoon gathering in Allen Hall, to which the entire campus community was invited.

Schill arrived in Eugene last week in the midst of a heat wave. After spending a day unpacking at McMorran House, the new president put in full days in his office in advance of Monday's introductory tour.
