Wall Street Journal does Q&A with UO's Jacobsen

The UO's Grant Jacobsen was the go-to expert for a Wall Street Journal question-and-answer article on whether home-building codes implemented in 2002 in Gainesville, Florida, could reduce energy waste and save homeowners money.

Jacobsen, an assistant professor in the UO's Department of Planning, Public Policy & Management, says homeowners in seven years will begin to see a return on the investment necessary to meet the energy-related codes.

Jacobsen teamed with Matthew Kotchen of Yale University in a study to assess how the building codes are working. See the full story "Study Suggests Building Codes Can Cut Energy Use—at a Price."
