Wall Street Journal looks at Judith Hibbard's 'PAM'

Would your doctor say you are an informed patient?

The Wall Street Journal has featured a story on doctor-patient interactions with a focus on the Patient Activation Measure (PAM) developed by a team led by the UO's Judith Hibbard.

Reporter Laura Landro writes that Hibbard and other researchers have used PAM in hundreds of studies and notes that hospitals have started using the measure to tailor the support they give patients at discharge to avoid readmissions.

Learn more about how patients who are highly activated "have better outcomes and incur lower costs" in the story headlined "How Doctors Rate Patients."
