#TBT to c. 1939 when the great Weegee captured this summer scene on Coney Island. An exhibition titled “Weegee’s Grief and Joy: Selections from the Collection,” is now on display at @JschnitzMoa. Weegee, born Arthur Fellig, came to fame as a freelance photographer covering the gritty street life of New York’s Lower East Side in the 1930s and ‘40s.
