Wellness ambassador program launches with fall workshops

The Duck Nest Wellness Center plans to host three workshops for employees this fall as part of its new Wellness Ambassador program.

Kate Stoysich, UO health promotion specialist, said volunteer wellness ambassadors will lead the workshops as wellness opportunities for faculty and staff members on campus.

“During the workshops, participants will learn about important concepts that impact us in our work on a daily basis and learn skills of how to deal with issues that arise,” Stoysich said.

The first workshop, called “Declare Your Wellness,” will take place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 8. The workshop will cover personal health and well-being. Next will be “Building Healthy Relationships in the Workplace” from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 12, when participants can learn how to develop healthy, positive workplaces.

The last workshop, “Change and Ambiguity in the Workplace,” will run from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 10. It is meant to help employees understand the types of change that happen in a workplace and how to use healthy communication techniques to deal with those changes.
