A limited number of tickets for public tours this summer of the Watzek House, Oregon’s newest National Historic Landmark, and The Shire, a unique landscape in the Columbia River Gorge, are now available. The tickets are expected to sell out quickly so early registration is recommended. 
As a child in her home country of Albania, Hueda Kapri preferred watching news rather than cartoons.“I always had a big desire for justice,” she says.That desire led the 20-year-old international student to University of Oregon in 2011, to pursue a degree in international studies with a focus in diplomacy and international relations. This summer, she will take what she has learned back home to Albania as she undertakes an internship with the Peace Corps in which she will be helping to train new Peace Corps staff.

Two sergeants from the University of Oregon Police Department have completed a prestigious leadership program in Salem. Michael Matchulat and Brad Petrie received certificates on June 13, at the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training police academy in Salem, acknowledging completion of the International Public Safety Leadership and Ethics Institute's 160-hour Leadership Development Course. The course is designed to develop leadership skills in the supervisors and managers who will become future leaders in Oregon public safety agencies. 
A parody of Psy’s “Gangnam Style” video by the University of Oregon's Duck mascot has won a silver medal from the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA). The video has generated nearly 7 million views on YouTube. It was honored in the "video board segment" category of NACMA's annual awards.
