UO Music and Dance wrap through Dec. 9

The Dancing People Company will visit the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance for a public concert on Nov. 22; the Voxare String Quartet will visit Beall Concert Hall Dec. 1; and the holiday season will feature a Dec. 6 choral concert, a Dec. 8 gospel concert and a Dec. 9 brass benefit concert.

UO's Office of International Affairs urges Philippine aid

The Office of International Affairs is leading the University of Oregon's efforts to express sympathy and offer support for those affected by Typhoon Haiyan, which hit the Philippines Nov. 8 and is believed to have killed more than 10,000 people across the archipelago.

“The Office of international Affairs is eager to work with any interested students and campus colleagues to funnel support in the right directions to assist the people of the Philippines,” said Dennis Galvan, the UO's vice provost for international affairs.

UO's Woo ranks high for social media among higher ed CIOs

Melissa Woo, the University of Oregon’s chief information officer and vice provost for information services, has been ranked among the top 10 most social media-savvy CIOs in higher education.  

Woo ranked number eight out of the top 10 for social media in a recent survey by "The Huffington Post" technology blogger Vala Afshar, who also serves as chief marketing officer at networking company Enterasys Secure Networks.
