Oregon Women’s Lacrosse March 16 features faculty/staff appreciation

The Oregon Women’s Lacrosse matchup with no. 2 Florida on March 16 will also feature a Faculty and Staff Appreciation day.

All UO faculty and staff members are invited and will receive $3 general admission into the match for showing ID at the ticket window at Pape’ Field. The match starts at 1 p.m. and parking is free.

Oregon put together its best season in school history in 2012, finishing 14-5 overall and a perfect 7-0 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.

Finalists for second-in-command at equity and inclusion to visit campus

Two finalists for the position of assistant vice president and chief of staff in the University of Oregon's Office of Equity and Inclusion will be on campus this month for interviews and to give public presentations.

Eric Mokube will visit the UO campus on Tuesday, March 12. He is director of scholarships and special projects for the Office of Diversity, Equity and Multicultural Affairs at Indiana University, Bloomington.

Senate seeks award nominations

The University of Oregon Senate is requesting nominations for two awards with April deadlines: the Classified Staff Leadership Award and the Wayne T. Westling Award.

The Classified Staff Leadership Award is given to a classified staff member who is an agent for change and continues to make a difference through actions and collaborative relationships in a complex organization.

PEBB meetings focus on better care, lower costs

Better health at lower costs.

That will be the focus of the Oregon Public Employees Benefit Board (PEBB) during a series of meetings open to the University of Oregon community beginning April 1.

The board is a labor-management board whose purpose is to provide high-quality benefits at a cost affordable to employees and the state. The board works toward its goals through values such as employee choice among high quality plans.

Redding to take Chicago position, leaving UO

Michael Redding, vice president of university relations at the University of Oregon, announced today (March 7) that he has accepted a position at the University of Illinois, Chicago. He will begin his new job April 30.

Redding has served as a senior UO administrator in a variety of roles since 2000. He has been a member of the president's cabinet since 2004 and served as vice president for university advancement before taking on his current role in 2010.

UO sees growth in graduate programs

Graduate studies enrollment data shows moderate growth in overall programs in recent years, Provost James Bean said, in a recent message to the UO community.

In recent communications to the campus, Bean has reviewed the Oregon Budget Model and how funds are allocated across schools and colleges. Recently, the provost illustrated how undergraduate student credit hours, majors and degrees – the data used to apply the budget model – have changed across campus during the past few years.
