Campus walk offers a chance to improve nighttime safety

The campus community is invited to take part in the Campus Night Safety Walk on Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in rooms 231/232 in the Erb Memorial Union, also called the Cedar and Spruce rooms.

This event encourages people to give the UO feedback on areas that can be improved for nighttime safety. The event begins with an overview of past projects and a discussion of the walking route for the night.

After the overview, the group will leave for a walk around campus, finishing by 7 p.m. Pizza will be provided.

The event is hosted by the Associated Students of the University of Oregon, Campus Planning and Facilities Management, Office of the Dean of Students, UO Police Department, Safety and Risk Services, and Office of the Vice President for Finance and Administration.

Individuals can submit locations and detailed information for suggested improvements on the Night Safety Map. Organizers request an RSVP by Nov. 8.
