Portland native Marcus Harvey, a 2012 UO graduate, has turned his social media following into a business focused on hometown pride.

Harvey credits his education in digital arts for bridging the intersection between business and art. The result was Portland Gear, his storefront that opened a year ago. Check out the video above.

“Getting a digital arts degree from the University of Oregon taught me the necessary tools and skills to create and cultivate the Portland Gear brand,” he said.

He recently purchased a warehouse to accommodate his growing business. Portland Gear is located at 627 SW 19th Avenue near Providence Park in the Goose Hollow neighborhood.
