Resources offered to people affected by severe weather

The University of Oregon’s Eugene campus has resumed normal operations today, Jan. 18, following closures earlier in the week due to severe winter weather. Many employees still face challenges at home with power, water and internet outages.

The university is offering resources to those employees, including:

  • Free showers at the Student Recreation Center for members of the UO community and their immediate families (SRC membership not required). Employees should bring their UO ID and accompany any family members to the facility. If employees wish to use the exercise facilities, they’ll need to have or purchase an SRC pass.
  • A water filling station at the SRC. Employees need to bring their own containers to fill with drinkable water.
  • Use of library buildings and the EMU during their normal operating hours to keep warm or charge devices.

Other resources available on campus are listed on the UO Alerts blog. Employees should continue to monitor UO Alerts for up-to-date information on university operations and resources.
