Search for student life leader advances to campus visits

The search for the University of Oregon's next permanent vice president for student life moves to the finalist stage in May when up to four candidates visit the Eugene campus.

Serving as a member of the president's executive leadership team, the vice president for student life is responsible for leading the Division of Student Life, an organizational unit broadly responsible for the support of students during their UO experience, from enrollment through graduation.

Carol Stabile, chair of the search committee and interim dean of the Clark Honors College, said a well-qualified, deep pool of candidates applied for the position in a search that got underway during the winter term.

Faculty members, staff and students are invited to meet each finalist in a 45-minute open session that will offer both in-person and Zoom options.

The open sessions are tentatively scheduled for May 6, 7, 9 and 10. The specific times, locations and Zoom links will be published on the Office of the President's vice president for student life search webpage once finalized. An RSVP is not required. A member of the search committee will facilitate each session.

Three business days before each visit, the candidate's curriculum vitae will be posted to a secure folder that will require login via Shibboleth on the search webpage. Members of the university community are asked to not disclose candidate names or information with anyone outside of campus to protect and respect the candidates' privacy throughout the search.

A feedback survey link will be posted on the first day of each candidate's visit with instructions and deadline for completion.

More information about the search is available on the president's website, and additional details will be published as the campus visits approach.
