UO Queer Film Festival accepting entries for 23rd annual event

Submissions are now being accepted through Dec. 24 for the University of Oregon Queer Film Festival.

The international film festival is juried and the festival has received entries from Pakistan, Australia, the United Kingdom and Canada. The film festival will be held Feb. 5-7 at the Bijou Theatre.

Hosted by the Cultural Forum, the event began in 1992 as way to showcase directors, actors and writers within the LGBTQ community. The film festival is seeking both short and full-length feature films as well as narrative and documentary films.  Admission is free for UO students, faculty and staff.

Works-in-progress and rough cuts will be accepted in place of final projects as long as a completed version will be ready by Jan. 15.

Queer Film Festival coordinator Audre Pile said this year marks the 23rd anniversary of the event and she encourages members of the UO community to attend the screenings.
