The UO’s online purchasing website is off to a promising start

In the four months since its launch last summer, Duck Depot, the university’s new online purchasing website, has received more than 2,000 orders totaling more than $2 million spent.

UO Purchasing and Contracting Services started the service to connect campus buyers to vendors and offer prenegotiated prices and hassle-free returns.

Anyone who has a uoregon.edu email address can log into Duck Depot and browse the nine catalogs available from businesses like Staples, CDWG, Fisher Scientific, Dell and Apple. Duck Depot currently has 11 vendors available and more are coming soon.

The platform allows departments to spend less time filling out procurement forms and packing slips, ultimately saving them time and money, said Shari Powell, operations manager with Purchasing and Contracting Services. Orders from Duck Depot can be shipped directly to an office.

“A very big thank you to all of the UO employees who have been working with us to get the program up and running.” Powell said. “We couldn’t have done it without you and we appreciate your patience as we worked behind the scenes to get things up and running as smoothly as possible.”
