Winter construction causes UO parking lot and street closures

Continued growth and improvements at the University of Oregon are spurring changes to campus parking, starting as soon as Monday, Dec. 11.

Lot 5A, on the north side of Franklin Boulevard across from the Lewis Integrative Science Building and Streisinger Hall, will no longer be available for parking as of Dec. 11. The area will be cleared for the Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact.

Water line work will close 15th Avenue from Agate Street west to near Onyx Street from Dec. 11 until about Jan. 2. Parking spaces normally in that area will be unavailable during construction.

Lot 59, located on Walnut Street and Franklin Boulevard at the site of the Romania Warehouse, has been expanded by 86 spaces.

Lot 4, located on Riverfront Parkway north of Franklin Boulevard and Agate Street, will soon have 150 spaces available to faculty/staff permit holders.

Students returning after winter break should look for more daytime parking in Lot 51, east of Global Scholars Hall. The lot has 80 spaces but has been lightly used this year.
