DAILY CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: Latest news and campus announcements

Here are the latest announcements and decisions related to university operations. The latest information is available on the UO coronavirus webpage.

  • President Michael Schill announced today the UO will provide remote education for the entire spring term to protect the health and safety of the campus community.
     
  • Residence halls will remain open and take-out dining will be available for spring term. Students who chose to stay home for the term may cancel housing contracts without penalty. Students with questions not answered in the FAQs may contact University Housing at housing@uoregon.edu or call 541-346-4277.
     
  • Commencement activities, including departmental ceremonies, will not be held as in-person events this year.  However, the university is working hard on other ways to offer a meaningful experience. Additional details on alternative celebration plans will be released in the coming weeks and updated on the commencement website. Regalia and other commencement essentials for photos will be available through The Duck Store at a future date.
     
  • Any faculty/staff, student, or affiliate parking permit holder whose permit is for at least three months in duration may return their permit for a refund. Visit the Transportation Services website for more information about requirements.
     
  • The number of COVID-19 cases increased to 88 in Oregonincluding two in Lane County. The US State Department issued a Level 4: Do Not Travel Advisory for all international travel.
     
  • The university continues to work in close coordination with the Oregon Health Authority and our companion institutions and agencies.
