Fill your plates and senses with fall Street Faire food and fun

Open air dining is on the menu during the ASUO Street Faire. The gastronomic grazing event brings the University of Oregon community together at the beginning of fall term.

Forty new and returning vendors will line East 13th Avenue in the heart of campus, Oct. 12-14, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

Local and regional food merchants’ offerings range from healthy and fresh to deep-fried everything. Booths sell jewelry, plants and other adornments fit to decorate an office or dorm room. An additional 15 nonprofit and UO-affiliated organizations round out the interactive outdoor fun.

“There are returning vendors’ staples, including funnel cakes and Hawaiian cuisine, and of course posters and vintage UO gear,” said Grace Corcoran, street faire student coordinator.

The biannual event is organized by the Associated Students of the University of Oregon, providing them with practical job experience and proceeds to help fund student food security endeavors.

As a reminder, East 13th Avenue will be closed from noon Oct. 11 through Oct. 14, and all are encouraged to walk their wheels when passing through the area.
