Here's what you need to know about the UO’s 2024 commencement

The University of Oregon’s 147th commencement ceremony will celebrate the achievements of 4,783 graduates at Autzen Stadium on Monday, June 17, starting at 9 a.m.

Here’s what to know about this year’s ceremonies and celebrations:

  • Graduates and guests for the day’s events should park at Autzen Stadium, with carpooling and ride sharing highly encouraged. There will be no public parking on campus. Free shuttles between Autzen and the main UO campus will run continuously throughout the day.
  • Parking lots at Autzen Stadium open at 6:30 a.m., and stadium gates open at 7:30. The ceremony begins at 9 a.m. and is expected to last 90 minutes.
  • Graduates will gather at the Moshofsky Plaza beginning at 7:30 a.m. The Gra(n)d Entrance into Autzen will begin at 8:15 a.m. through the west tunnel.
  • Sarah Mensah, the first Black woman and first UO graduate to lead Nike, Inc.’s Jordan Brand, will give the keynote address at the University of Oregon’s 147th commencement. The 1987 UO graduate is president of the globally influential Jordan sneaker and apparel brand.
  • Ceremonies for schools and colleges will take place in locations around the Eugene campus on June 14-17.
  • In addition to the schools and colleges, other celebrations mark the accomplishments of multicultural and identity-based student groups, including the Black Graduation Celebration and Lavender Graduation Celebration.
  • The School of Law celebrated its 138th graduating class at its commencement ceremony May 18.
  • In between ceremonies, join the campus community in celebrating commencement at the Erb Memorial Union. Graduates and their families can head to the EMU Green on Sunday, June 16, and Monday, June 17, to enjoy complimentary snacks and refreshments. GradFest activities will include photo opportunities with the large green and yellow "O" and lawn games. The EMU also includes places to sit and relax and expanded food service venues.
  • Both the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art and the Museum of Natural and Cultural History are open with free admission on commencement day.
