Provost announces 2020 faculty tenure and promotions

More than 100 faculty members at the University of Oregon received tenure or promotions this year

This year’s faculty promotion list includes 101 newly promoted and tenured faculty members.

“Our university thrives and is able to provide unique experiences to our students because of the quality of our faculty,” said Patrick Phillips, provost and senior vice president. “The impact of the university as whole on the broader world is built upon the scholarly, research, and creative work that our faculty contribute each and every day. I’m proud that we are able to celebrate these excellent faculty who have been promoted for their teaching and research accomplishments.”

There are 60 tenure-track faculty members who earned promotions, were promoted with tenure or earned tenure. In addition, 41 career faculty members who were promoted.

Typically, these faculty members are recognized at a reception with the president, provost and other academic leaders. This year, the university will plan a celebration for some time in the fall, if social distancing restrictions allow.
