Quarterly campus power system testing takes place Dec. 20

Campus Planning and Facilities Management’s Utilities and Energy unit will test the UO’s Eugene campus “island mode” power generation system on a quarterly basis to ensure the system works as designed when needed in the event of a power outage or storm events creating power fluctuations that disrupt sensitive equipment.

The next test is Dec. 20 and will take place periodically throughout the day with no effects on the campus community. It is a seamless power transition test that has been uneventful in previous tests.
