Randy Kamphaus named dean of the College of Education

Randy Kamphaus, distinguished research professor in the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services at Georgia State University in Atlanta, has been named dean of the University of Oregon College of Education. Provost Scott Coltrane announced the appointment Friday, June 6, and Kamphaus will assume his new duties on Sept. 2.

Kamphaus previously served as dean of the College of Education at Georgia State from 2007-2012. Prior to serving as dean, he held several leadership positions at the University of Georgia in Athens, including department head and director positions in the departments of educational psychology and instructional technology, educational psychology and school psychology.

In 2013, Kamphaus received the Senior Scientist Award, Division of School Psychology, from the American Psychological Association. He has published numerous scholarly articles and books, including several editions of “Clinical Assessment of Child and Adolescent Intelligence” and “Clinical Assessment of Child and Adolescent Personality and Behavior,” co-authored with P. J. Frick.

Kamphaus earned his Ph.D. in educational psychology at the University of Georgia, his M.A. in general psychology from the University of Illinois at Springfield and his B.A. in psychology at Quincy University.
