Senate seeks nominations for OA award for leadership and service

The University Senate is seeking nominations for its Leadership and Service Award for Officers of Administration. The nomination deadline is April 8.

The senate award for officers of administration was created two years ago to recognize outstanding leadership and service to the UO.

All nominations are evaluated by the OA Award Committee based exemplary service and inspired leadership. Service may include participation in committees, advisory bodies and elected positions, and potential examples of leadership include decision-making and fostering an inclusive, respectful climate on campus.

To nominate an officer of administration for the award, describe on one or more paragraphs why the person deserves recognition and submit the nomination by April 8 to Christopher Prosser, senate executive coordinator, at prosser@uoregon.edu.

The University Senate is also seeking nominations for the Classified Staff Leadership Award and the Wayne T. Westling Award.

The Wayne T. Westling Award is presented to a faculty or staff member for outstanding and long-term leadership and service. The award is named in honor of Professor Wayne Westling, professor of law from 1979-2001, recognized for his commitment to faculty governance.

The nomination deadline for both of those awards is also April 8. Nominations should be submitted to Prosser, at prosser@uoregon.edu.
