Track and field events to impact parking and driving on campus

Track and field events this spring at Hayward Field will bring modifications to parking and driving on the University of Oregon Eugene campus.

Meets range from middle and high school students at the Nike Outdoor Nationals, June 12-15, to America's elite competing in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Track & Field, June 21-30.

The Oregon Preview, March 22-23, is the first event of the season. Lot 38 will be closed for this and all other track and field events. City street spaces on the perimeter of Hayward Field will be reserved for the event. Judges and staff will use the 13th Avenue garage. The B-East parking zone will see an increase in use.

The Parking and Traffic Advisory section of the Transportation Services website will list expected impacts and alternatives. The largest events will be the OSAA High School Championships, May 16-18, and the Olympic Trials.

During events, parking permit holders are encouraged to consider alternative commute methods. Visit  the Transportation Services website for parking maps and more information about campus transportation options, such as PeaceHealth Rides bike share, Lane Transit District services (which are free to UO students and employees with the Umo App or card) and UO Park and Ride. For more ideas on travel to, from and around campus, contact the Active Transportation Coordinator, Rachel Glaeser, at 541-346-2607 or rglaeser@uoregon.edu.

Some events only occur during the weekend and won't impact most UO employees. A list of Hayward Field events is available on the TrackTown USA website.
