UO employees get creative in annual food drive fundraising

The Governor’s State Employee Food Drive kicked off with a rumble Feb. 1 as barrels rolled to dozens of locations across campus. In addition to the traditional collection of nonperishable food items, departments across campus have planned fundraising activities to boost participation and reach the goal of donating 100,000 pounds of food.

Fundraising events across campus include the following (open to all UO faculty, staff and students unless otherwise noted):

Feb. 12: Biology department bake sale, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Room 77. Klamath Hall.
Feb. 12: Math department bake sale, 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Room 202, Fenton.
Feb. 12-23: Guess the UO Baby (human resources, open to departments in PeaceHealth Building).
Feb. 14: Economics and sociology departments bake sale, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Room 435, Prince Lucien Campbell Hall.
Feb. 14-28: English department online auction (auction site will go live on Feb. 14)
Feb. 16: Human resources Trash to Treasure Auction (open to departments in PeaceHealth Building).
Feb. 19: Biology department bake sale, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Room 77, Klamath Hall.
Feb. 22: UO Recreation Center National Recreation Sports and Fitness Day; free GroupX and Webfoot Crossfit classes with a food or cash donation.
Feb. 23: Human resources Protein Pyramid and Potluck (human resources, open to departments in PeaceHealth Building).
Feb. 24: UO Recreation Center Open Rec Day, 10 a.m. to midnight; free access to the center with food or cash donation.
Feb. 26: Biology department bake sale, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Room 77, Klamath Hall.
Feb. 26: College of Arts and Sciences Friendly Ladies’ Accessories Exchange, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., Room 109, Friendly.
