Basketball season to impact parking and driving on campus

University of Oregon Ducks women’s and men’s basketball seasons kick off this term, and with that comes modifications to parking and driving near Matthew Knight Arena and the east side of the Eugene campus.

The first women’s nonconference game is on a Sunday, Oct. 29, and the first weekday game is Monday, Nov. 6. The men’s team starts play on Friday, Nov. 10.

Most games take place on nights and weekends, but a few occur on weekday afternoons and evenings. Thirteenth Avenue Garage permit holders will be sent email notifications if they need to move their cars from the garage on a game day.

UO parking permit holders are allowed to park in UO-operated lots, as space permits, at no additional cost during the games.

Parking in front of the arena on East 13th Avenue is restricted on game days. Flaggers direct the flow of traffic on Agate Street to ease congestion on Franklin Boulevard.

Game attendees are encouraged to use alternate means to get to campus, including the free park and ride shuttle from Autzen Stadium or by riding the EmX bus or a bicycle.
