Candidates for director of new SOJC center set to visit campus

The campus community will have a chance to meet the top candidates to lead the newly launched Media Center for Science and Technology in the School of Journalism and Communication.

The UO community is invited to meet the center director candidates on the following dates:

  • Feb. 26, 11 a.m. to noon, Crater Lake South Room, Erb Memorial Union.
  • March 5, 11 a.m. to noon, Room 246, Gerlinger Hall.
  • March 12, 11 a.m. to noon, Knight Library Browsing Room.

Launched in October 2017 as part of the Presidential Fund for Excellence, the Media Center for Science and Technology is an interdisciplinary research center that aims to amplify and connect scientific information to diverse audiences.

The director will lead and build the new center in collaboration with colleagues in the School of Journalism and Communication, other UO programs, the Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact and beyond.
