Chris Minson talks heat response in Discovery News story

Chris Minson, professor and head of the UO Department of Human Physiology, is the go-to expert in a Discovery News story about surviving the heat of summer.

Freelance writer Emily Sohn interviewed Minson at length for the story, which focuses on the body's capacity to adjust effectively to heat and what factors may trigger dangerous responses.

"If we can't compensate in some way for external temperatures to protect our internal temperatures, that's when things go wrong," Minson says in the story. "If you can't release heat, you've got problems."
