On Saturday, April 19, students from the University of Oregon participated in the annual CommUniversity Day of Service, a service project aimed to improve near-campus area neighborhoods and bring neighbors together with a shared activity.

KMTR-TV in Eugene highlighted the Day of Service, which included planting trees, picking up trash and collecting food for local charities. See the news article and video package by KMTR-TV.

“One hundred ninety people signed up, and that was a lot more than we anticipated,” organizer Cecilia Tran said to KMTR, “Originally we had three projects. We created the food drive just so we have more things for people to help our community even more.”

In addition, the event was also featured on KEZI-TV in Eugene. See the video package by KEZI-TV (Begins at 5:06:41).
